Teach COVID a Lesson campaign celebrates educators
The Teach COVID a Lesson campaign was created to highlight educators who are finding creative ways to be safe in the midst of the pandemic. We invite you to nominate yourself or other educators who have found ways to keep students and faculty safe while ensuring that learning continues. For example, maybe there's a chorus class that is teaching students to sign songs in American Sign Language instead of singing them out loud. To submit your nomination, please fill out this form (https://media.cmsmax.com/ravk3pgz5ktlujs1r08ci/teach-covid-a-lesson-form-new.pdf) .
Coming Back from COVID: A Discussion Series
Whole Child Connection hosted an episode of the web series "Coming Back From COVID" called Fostering Positive Connection Among Students, Families and School Staff. The episode featured three community experts, including Erick Stephens, Parent Engagement Specialist, who shared strategies on how they work to foster positive relationships with young people, families, educators and child-serving adults. Watch here. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ML0nOkgohtc&feature=youtu.be)
Parents and caregivers: Share your childcare needs
COVID-19 has changed so much in our community. We know all parents and caregivers have been navigating challenges to keep their kids safe during the pandemic. We also know that many parents and caregivers have had to find new and emergency forms of childcare for their babies, school-aged kids, and teens. We're asking parents and caregivers in Monroe and Wayne Counties to take the following survey so that we can better understand your needs. Take the survey in English (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ChildCareEnglish) or Spanish (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ChildCareEspanol) .
