Active fathers have a significant impact on child development
Fatherhood engagement has a significant influence on children. More engaged fathers can positively affect a child's healthy physical, emotional and social development. Research shows that father involvement impacts their children's mental development, changing their behavior, inspiring them to play and developing their social skills. Studies also show that children with active fathers are more likely to get good grades in school, participate in extracurricular activities and have less discipline problems. Read more. American Farmland Trust releases new report on Farm to School
Healthi Kids is a member of New York Grown Food for New York Kids, a coalition of nearly 70 organizations who support increasing access to fresh, healthy, local food for students in K-12 schools. The American Farmland Trust recently released a report detailing the benefits of Farm to School and the progress that's been made so far. Read the report here. Safe Routes to School
Healthi Kids was featured in the 2019 Safe Routes to School Statewide Program Assessment Report. Safe Routes to School is a movement that aims to enable students to get regular physical activity by making it safer and easier to walk and bike to school. Learn more. WELL Campaign, legislators, advocates hold advocacy day in Albany
The WELL Campaign, a statewide coalition that aims to strengthen wellness policies for all New York State students, held an advocacy day in Albany on January 22.
