Last year, Healthi Kids had a crazy idea - to partner with neighborhoods across the city to create multiple pop up play spaces on the same day. The event, PlayROCs your Neighborhood, raised awareness for safe and accessible play spaces for every child, in every neighborhood. What started as a spark, created a movement among our neighborhood partners, having a place for children and adults to play in their neighborhood was, and continues to be a quality of life issue. Every child, no matter where they live, has the RIGHT to PLAY.
In 2016, fourteen neighborhood associations, block clubs, and community organizations reclaimed their public spaces and demonstrated what a playful neighborhood looked like to them in our "PlayROCs your Neighborhood" city-wide play day! Click here to see some great ideas or read our blog.
This year, our coordinated play day "PlayROCs Your Neighborhood" is Back, and we're bigger and better than before! With 20 sites across the city - there's bound to be one close to you! Check the map below for site locations, times, and activities, or click here for a printable list.
