Dina Faticone, MA - Healthi Kids Director
Dina Faticone is the program director of the Healthi Kids Initiative, a coalition working to maintain healthy weight in children through policy, systems, and environmental change. Prior to joining FLHSA in 2012, she spent over 10 years working in the community development field on a broad range of issues including youth development, environmental health, and sustainable development. Dina co-chairs the Summer Meals Partnership of Rochester and is a member of several coalitions and committees, including the Rochester City School District's Wellness Task Force and the New York Academy of Medicine's Healthy Schools and Childcare work group. Dina completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Le Moyne College and received her Master of Arts in Sustainable Development at Brandeis University.
Jenn Beideman, MPA - Policy & Research Associate
Jenn's work supports policy and practice changes that promote healthful nutrition and physical activity to ensure school aged children reach and maintain a healthy weight. Jenn brings more than 9 years of experience in policy research and development from a variety of non-profit, academic, and government settings. Most recently, she worked at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in Toronto, Canada where her government relations work provided procedural research and policy support to several Standing Committees of the House. Jenn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto, and a Master’s in Public Administration from SUNY Brockport.
Mike Bulger - Healthy Communities Coordinator
Mike Bulger is a Rochester native and is coming back home to pursue his passion around food systems. Mike holds an MA in Food Studies from NYU and for the past several years has coordinated community food access programs and patient dietary interventions at New York Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital. He was a Research Associate/TA for the esteemed Dr. Marion Nestle at NYU and has guest lectured at Yale University. Mike is well suited for the Healthy Communities Coordinator position where he will oversee our community food access interventions, worksite/staff wellness, and complete streets work.
Alicia Evans - Healthy Schools Coordinator
Alicia has deep community connections and is a parent of two students in one of the schools we work with giving her a personal connection to the work. Alicia holds a MA in Organizational Leadership and joins the team from Metro Council for Teen Potential. As part of her responsibilities at Metro Council for Teen Potential, Alicia had built partnerships and oversaw work around health education in the Rochester City School District and many community based organizations. She has served on the board of the Healthy Baby Network and Youth Services Quality Council, and is an artist who brings both passion and creativity to her work.
Hannah Shippee - Administrative Assistant
Hannah has a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany in Public Health with a minor in Biology. Before coming to FLHSA she gained experience working in health care offices in various administrative roles. Hannah will be working with Healthi Kids managing the behind the scenes work to help us focus on accomplishing our goals, and hopes to also provide input to our initiatives with her public health knowledge. Hannah grew up on Keuka Lake and is passionate about using her education and experience to help improve our region’s health. Outside of work Hannah enjoys eating healthy, gardening and doing anything active outdoors.
Erick Stephens - Parent Engagement Coordinator
As the Parent Engagement Coordinator for Healthi Kids, Erick provides technical assistance and support to schools to strengthen and improve parent engagement efforts. He also works directly with parents training them on advocacy and connecting them to opportunities to impact policy, systems, and environmental change in schools. Erick served as a Youth Service Assistant at the Phillis Wheatley Branch Library in Rochester's Southwest and was the Parent Liaison at James P.B. Duffy School #12, where he now volunteers and runs a program to help develop leaders at the school through mentoring. Erick is currently completing his Bachelor of Science in Political Science at the University of Buffalo.
